Why Calm the Storm?

Is your child experiencing emotional breakdowns?
Does your child get emotionally frustrated easily, often leading to emotional outbursts?
Does everything seem fine - and then your child goes from 0 to 100 at a moment's notice?
Does your children become emotionally hysterical with big, dramatic explosions or outbursts?

Are you not sure how to handle it?
Do you try to stay calm, but end up feeling triggered?
Maybe you respond with yelling or your own high emotions that seem to make everything worse?

Do you know in your heart you need new tools to both help you stay calm and to support your child?

You're not alone!
In working with over 500 families in the last 7 years - and as a parent myself -  I've discovered that:
the #1 parenting struggle most parents face today is what to do when our children have an emotional breakdown, meltdown, or tantrum.

Even with the best of intentions, staying calm, neutral and supportive as a parent with a melting down child is challenging to say the least.

It's easy to get stuck in a cycle of responding to children's high emotions with our own high emotions, whether it's yelling, anger, withdrawing -  and even our own emotional breakdown.

Because emotional breakdowns are the #1 challenge parents face today, that also means that supporting you and your children around high emotions is the #1 way to bring positive change to your family.

You can learn how to find your calm in the storm, and transform emotional breakdowns into emotional breakthroughs.

Calm the Storm
Next session begins in 2019!

What I appreciated most from this program is the practical information and knowledge Megan taught me about emotions. She provided individual and group support sessions with opportunities for open discussions on an easy to use platform. The group participating in Calm the Storm had opportunities to share their own struggles and experiences in their everyday work with children. This class helped me to better understand myself when faced with emotional situations by empowering me to practice methods for regathering and re-connection to better find balance in my life. By using simple tools and coping strategies Megan gives a clearer idea how to model for children ways to express myself so they too can learn healthy calming skills. Calm the Storm has opened my eyes to the power of emotions and how they can have an effect on the people around me. Recognizing my own stress responses, temperament and triggers has also helped me to understand how children and adults react differently. My biggest take away is to have compassion for myself and to address my own struggles using calming tools so I can be a better parent and teacher.
