summer
is my fav
always has been
always will be

but fall
with its
pumpkins
apples
crisp air
golden skies
has its own
beautiful place
in the seasons of life

Picture

fall is a time
to come back
into balance
in our homes
within ourselves

as we soak up
the golden sun
in the transition
of the seasons
we're also preparing
our inner hearths

fall is
an amazing time
to rebalance
from within
to re-calibrate

* What is most important to you?

* What sustains you?

* What - not just keeps you ticking - but helps you thrive?

one
of my fav ways
to reconnect with
what's most important
from within
is to work with
your minimum requirements

to make sure
your needs
are met
first and foremost
so you can meet
the needs
of your children

enjoy this simple activity
to nurture your
sustaining needs
this fall
and
to celebrate
back to school
for parents!

Minimum Requirements
for Fall Rebalancing

#1 Write Down Everything You Need in Day to Sustain Yourself.
Don't over think it!! Don't think of a basic need you have, and then not write it down because meeting the need doesn't seem possible. Just write down on paper everything you need to sustain yourself in a 24 hour period. These are your *Minimum Requirements. {Yes, lots of "this isn't possible" or "this isn't realistic" is part of the process. Write all your sustaining needs down anyway. You can do it!}

#2 Star 1-3 Sustaining Needs/Minimum Requirements to Focus on this Fall. If you can meet all your needs, great and go for it! Most of us have to focus on 1-3 sustaining needs at a time to bring into reality by making them a habit or positive pattern. So go ahead and star your top 1-3 sustaining needs you want to focus on this Fall. {Yes, this is a process. It literally took me over 5 YEARS to learn how to meeting my sustaining needs, and I'm still a work in progress. We all are. It's ok. Embrace the baby steps as the huge positive change in the right direction that they are :) }

My minimum requirements from way back in 2013 that took me over 5 years to learn how to sustain. "Begin where you are" are my words of wisdom to you.

#3 Hang Your Top Minimum Requirements/Sustaining Needs Up Where You'll See Them Everyday.
Keep it simple or make some art for your wall - and be sure to hang your Minimum Requirements list where you can see it everyday. Let your sustaining needs motivate and inspire you. Keep them close to your heart. Think of these needs as your job contract with yourself. Yet, don't judge yourself if you don't meet your sustaining needs, rather get curious on why that might be and commit to a new day called tomorrow. :) For when your needs are met - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually - you dust yourself off and shine bright from the inside out. So you can do the amazing work of sustaining the next generation.

    Mama Megan

Hi friends,  I write from the heart to tell my life story, and the story of those in my neighborhood called life. Research shows that our children's emotional & mental health is contingent upon us parents being able to tell our life story, or "coherent narrative."  This is my coherent narrative, my life story in the making, with some of what I love in life too. My goal is to share my life in a way that is real, uplifting & positive- sometimes serious, sometimes fun. In my practice, I inspire parents to empowerment through reclaiming our life stories and learning respectful discipline. My work is my offering to our children- our future. Wishing you all a happy family!
