i don't have time!

the ironic contradiction
that says
we can have it ALL
which means
we have to do it ALL
which leaves us feeling
exhausted
depleted
like we want to do
NOTHING

100% unrealistic
expectations
for modern parenting
especial modern mothering

are you a "yes" person?
do you find it hard
to say "no"?
because you sincerly
want to be helpful
or you feel like you
should be helpful

or maybe you've learned
how to hold strong boundaries
for yourself + your time
because it's your life
after all

* whether you feel run down
by the pressure to do it all
* you're working to create a life
in which you are in the driver's seat
rather than your obligations
running you
* your clear boundaries are
an inspiration to others

this thought is for you:

Picture

i read this quote
this week on ig

and wow
it rocked my world

instead of
running around
feeling like
i have no time
but that i should
have time
i should be able
to do it all

i realized
life is about
choices
we have
X amount of time
to allocate
to our top priorities
the rest
just can't
be a priority

we say no
to
say yes to what
truly matters

so as you
head into your week
let go of
that pressure
false expectation
that you have
to do it all
that there's
any way
you could do it all
even if you wanted to

instead of saying
i don't have time
say
it's not a priority
and see how it feels

i found it felt
superbly
liberating
+
empowering
and i hope
you do too

Say yes to what
truly matters
by saying no
to the rest
creating a life
of priorities
what's closest
to your heart
- n
ot stress.

You Got This.

    Mama Megan

Hi friends,  I write from the heart to tell my life story, and the story of those in my neighborhood called life. Research shows that our children's emotional & mental health is contingent upon us parents being able to tell our life story, or "coherent narrative."  This is my coherent narrative, my life story in the making, with some of what I love in life too. My goal is to share my life in a way that is real, uplifting & positive- sometimes serious, sometimes fun. In my practice, I inspire parents to empowerment through reclaiming our life stories and learning respectful discipline. My work is my offering to our children- our future. Wishing you all a happy family!
