The Things No One Tells You ...

That there will always be a part of life that STINKS SO BAD.

If you LOVE fall time,
more power to you.

Yes, I also love...
* golden sun | on blue sky | with white clouds | and crisp air
* apples, cinnamon, pumpkin
* merino wool, faux fur, cozy boots
* pumpkin spice is cool too

I even made you a Fall Magic Craft Guide to celebrate the season!

Yes, Fall is 100% GLORIOUS.

But, Fall also reminds me that LIFE STINKS SO BAD SOMETIMES!!

And that part of being alive is honoring OUR HUMAN impermanence and imperfections.

Even the name "Fall" is a reminder that, just like those leaves - we all have things to LET GO of.

And also, that there are times in life
where we FALL DOWN and want to GIVE UP.

Yes, Fall reminds me that there's times in life that HURT and STINK sssssssso BAD - I can smell it now. :(

Picture

Fall time is such a GREAT teacher.

Fall teaches us...
* the power of rest and hibernation,
and how to work with depression.

* how to let go of what no longer serves us,
and how negative emotions and memories can zap all our energy.

* that compassion for human suffering is a #1,
and yet carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders - and in our minds, bodies & hearts - will bring us all down.

Fall teaches us that from the depths of human pain can grow flowers during the next season of life.

This Fall season - in exactly ONE week! - it's such a GIFT to be beginning Calm Storm dedicated to....

* building a positive emotional HOMEBASE, BLUEPRINT, and LEGACY for you and your family
* celebrating the emotional RESILIENCY & POWER of the HUMAN HEART.

In Calm the Storm, we HONOR and then SHIFT the negative in your life.

We help you BUILD a positive EMOTIONAL HOMEBASE for you and your family.

You create a well of EMOTIONAL SECURITY within yourself to support your life purpose, dreams, and intentions.

Alone, the hard stuff of live is even harder.

Together, we honor the hard stuff and then LET IT GO to create your CALM in the storms of life.

Welcome to all the families who've already joined us for Calm the Storm, and I'm SO excited to welcome more families this week!

Remember, YOU CAN DO IT this Fall season - even if it's sssooo HARD and stinks ssssooo BAD sometimes. Together #WeCanDoIt. We believe in in you!

Wishing you a wonderful week, and may all the COMPASSIONATE & TRANSFORMATIVE power of the Fall season be with you!

Fairy Magic Rainbow Wishes

this week
was hard
not going
to lie

everywhere
i look
people are having
a hard time
with
serious
serious
serious
stuff

and other
horribly sad matters
of living and dying
on planet earth today

not little life annoyances
but the big stuff of life
big
hard
terrible
stuff

Then I hear the little voice...

"Megan, you've been through so much in life. There's so much suffering in the world. It's ok if you just rest and take a break from it all...."

I know that little voice. It got me through such hard times when I was a child. It taught me how to escape when I needed; how to totally check out of this earthly reality that is sometimes fraught with suffering and pain.

Now the little voice tells me, it's ok if...

* I both go to bed early AND sleep in too because I deserve it!
* I miss morning meditation and movement because it's not going to end anyone's suffering.
* I get lazy with deadlines because everyone needs a break sometimes.

This is the voice of little girl me, lost and waiting for someone to save her.

except that
i'm a grown-up
now

both my parents
are dead

i can wait
the rest
of my life

no one is going
to come in
and save me
or
the rest of humanity
from
human suffering

fairy magic
rainbow
wishes
i wish
they were real

but
there's no wave
of the wand
and
all will be
well again

Wish I could say the little girl inside me is all healed and grown up.

All I can say is healing is a process.
Becoming fully who we are here to be is also a process.

But I have learned the gift of supporting my little girl self.

Because most of us today are stressed,
we're trying to change the way we were raised,
and we're healing so we can fully show up for our kids.

Doing this big emotional work to heal and to change old patterns from our childhood is HUGE - and it's totally possible.

It's just more of a journey than a destination.

And it's more fun to have fellow travelers along the way.
So, thank you for reading.

This week, please support that little person inside of you.

Whatever they need to heal, it's ok to give it to them
- even if you're honoring old coping mechanisms.

And it's also ok, when it's time, to give "little you" a pep talk. Tell them it's going to be ok. Remind them how strong they are. And then take that positive step - even if it's a baby one - into today and building the future you.

It's not easy work,
this healing of the past,
but together We Got This.

matters of the heart

Maybe it's having a tween who asks deep questions.

Or could be the fall season,
when we dig deep to our roots.

Might have to do with my existential,
gypsy spirit that always
longs for more freedom.

Whatever it is,
life right now
feels straight to
the heart of things.

Straight to the heart....
of our struggles,
challenges,
pain,
and ultimately
our life gifts & lessons
... life is as real as a cool fall night.

There's no denying,
no hiding,
no wishing away,
life is ON right now.

As much as I want to curl up under my down comforter with a good book and say, "wake me for the holidays," it's just not possible.

There's too much - beautiful, delicate, strong, and bitter sweet - work to be done around ours hearts this season.

Picture

Our hearts are more powerful than we can even imagine.

Yet, the hard thing about the work of the heart is that the heart feels everything.

The human heart has no filter.
In order to feel joy, we must taste sadness.
It's the full spectrum of the human emotions that makes this heart work the hardest.

Because in order to get to our happiness,
we also must accept that things make us really angry.

In order to truly love,
we have to risk loss.

And on and on the contradictions continue.
The work of the heart is vulnerable & unpredictable.
It tests our faith.

I have to admit that there are times in my life
when I wish I could just take a break from feeling.

But I know to feel is to be alive.
There is no break.
Or is there?

In sharing more of my life story - and my "why" for why I do parenting empowerment work  - over the last few weeks (thank you for all your support!),
I want you to know that deep in my heart,
I know you too have struggles.

While I can't fix the hard stuff you face.
I can help you create something from within yourself
that will support you through life's ups & downs.

So you can...
* let go of doubt
* connect with your soul and your heart's longings
* create a heart-centered life where possibility is infinite
... to actualize the power of your own heart.

This fall, I'm dedicated to helping real parents, just like you - with really BIG hearts and sometimes equally BIG challenges connect with the power of your heart to transform the everyday HIGH STRESS + HIGH EMOTIONS in your home.

This is my goal with Calm the Storm:
to help you live from your heart.

Picture

I created the Calm the Storm Masterclass and Ebook to help you take the HIGH STRESS + HIGH EMOTIONS of daily life as a parent, and build an emotional oasis within you.

    Mama Megan

Hi friends,  I write from the heart to tell my life story, and the story of those in my neighborhood called life. Research shows that our children's emotional & mental health is contingent upon us parents being able to tell our life story, or "coherent narrative."  This is my coherent narrative, my life story in the making, with some of what I love in life too. My goal is to share my life in a way that is real, uplifting & positive- sometimes serious, sometimes fun. In my practice, I inspire parents to empowerment through reclaiming our life stories and learning respectful discipline. My work is my offering to our children- our future. Wishing you all a happy family!
